Phill MacGregor is a naturally talented, no nonsense Chef who knows his stuff inside out. Phill is celebrated amongst ‘in the know’ foodies from Whitstable and beyond for his outstanding culinary expertise and resounding drive that produce big flavours and award winning combinations from breakfast classics and lunchtime specials to a la carte dishes.

Serious food lovers who want to keep up with a good thing, have followed Phill to Whitstable from The Dove Inn, Dargate, where his role as Chef ­Proprietor earned him 2 AA rosettes, Inspector’s favourite in the Michelin Guide and year on year appearances in The Good Food Guide, Alastair Sawdays and the AA Pub and Restaurant guides. Dedicated to a labour of love, Phill’s cooking at The Dove has developed into a robust and distinctive style ­ unfussy, down to earth and just tastes damn good. The kind of food he loves to eat!

Classically trained, Phill has worked with notable Chefs such as Paul Gayler at The Lainsborough Hotel, Hyde Park Corner and Barry Tonks at Bonds on Threadneedle Street. A spell in the South of France allowed him to polish his techniques and develop his unrivalled flair. In the Coastal Kitchen, always cooking and baking from scratch with a strong focus on flavour, Phill cooks up a storm that everybody’s talking about Morning, Noon and Night.
